Bayou 300 Carb swap(now idle surging)

Default Bayou 300 Carb swap(now idle surging)

I just swapped the carb to the Honda 300 Carb and now i can't get it to idle right. As of right now the air/fuel screw is 1 turn out and the idle is staying really high after its reved, choke the airbox and it comes down. Please help.

Was the carb that you swapped the same type as the one on the Bayou 300 , and what was the season for the swap ? I have a manual that covers a late 80's Kawasaki KLF300 - A1 & A2 model that came with a Keihin Model CVK32 on this one the float height is 17 mm ( 0.67 in. ) Main Jet is a #130 , Main Air Jet is a #100 , Pilot Jet is a #38 , Pilot Air Jet is a #140 , Jet Needle is a N27Q and Needle Jet is a # 6 ; if this isn't the same carb as the one from your KLF300 Bayou or same carb as the one from the Honda the Jetting will most likely need rejetting to get it running right .

It would great if you could give us more info on the 2 carbs this would give us more to work on .

Default bayou 300 swap

i just completed my swap yesterday 1996 bayou 300 4x4 . used a 1986 trx 300 carb. carb came with the honda throtle and choke. used the honda throtle and cable the choke cable didn't fit at the lever end so iswaped out the carb end with the kawasaki end into the carb. worked perfect fuel air mix screw out about 1.5 turns idle set while quad was warmed up then set a 1/2 turn higher for colder weather starts. quad has never run so good, no gas leaks any more and more even power. air box was a tight fit but it works. needed a bigger hose clamp is all. do this swap!!!!
