Bayou 300 4x4, strange engine noise
It's a somewhat intermittent noise, not the usual tapping, slapping, knocking sounds that engines sometimes make. It is kind of a rubbing/scraping noise, almost like a windshield wiper. You can feel it if you are touching the wheeler, and can feel it through your feet if you are on it.
When the engine is idling, the sound/vibration has a duration of about a second, and can be heard on intervals of about 3 seconds. The sound can be heard in gear or in neutral. At higher rpm, it's harder to hear/feel, but still there. What is this???
I'd really appreciate any ideas that people may have.
