bayou 300 backfires

Hello, not sure if i will be much help other than pose some questions to you to try and figure this out.
When is it back firing?
Is the choke on or off?
Are you coasting down hills?
My bayou 300 and 220 will back fire if i forget to turn the choke off once the engine has warmed up, or if i am coasting down hill in gear some times, acts like an engine break on a semi.
Also check your connection from your carb. to your air box and, air filter, my 300 is VERRY sensitive to air leaks in that area. if I don't' have an air filter in mine I have to keep the choke on to keep it from backfiring, so check to make sure you filter is in good shape and your hose clamps are tight.
Just some things to check hope it helps.
but kinda sound like it might be an issue wth fuel/ choke.
Good luck!
