I posted this about the rear diff oil in the highlifter forum earlier:
The oil is john deer brand, Hy-Gard Low Visocosity, #TY22000. It was about $7 for a gallon, or around $2 for a quart. The specs, and applications matched up in the cross-ref guide. It says on the gallon- for use in wet brakes and final drives.

I was going to post the same ? i went to a local shop that is a kawi dealer and everyone said never heard of it, use gear oil. WHAT??? the manual says to use mobil 424 and it dosent take a rocket science to figure out that the manufactures of my kawi want it in there its probably not a bad idea ???Finaly i talk to the service manager which didnt know that it was to be done at the first 10 hour break in service .I bought my bike out of town due to the clueless dealer in my town ,when i called the dealer who i bought it from and he said that he has been unable to stock this product but kawi sent him just enogh to service a picticular machine he had for service,also the same story for the local service manager.
Well the lesson learned her i pated my self on the back for not taking my kawi to the dealer for service i bet if the people who took there prairie in for service didnt even get their rear final drive fluid changed.
