Default o2 sensor on my 4 wheeler??? will it work?

i was thinkin yesterday about what an easy way to monitor air/fuel ratio would be....it would be really great to have some kind of meter running constantly (for jetting, pipes, and other changes)...t would also be a good thing to have to spot problems with lean conditions before they lead to more problems... NOW...heres my mad scientist idea.......say i get an o2 sensor from a car, and then hook up one of those air/fuel meters out of like jc whitney or someting....i drill and helicoil the header pipe and wire in the o2sensor.....its crazy but why wouldnt it work?? if anyone has more technical knowledge than me id be interested to hear from them....ps i work at a dodge dealer so if this works i can get the o2 sensors for mad cheap hahahaha:
