Gio 50 not starting
#11
Since I can't get the engine running, I guess I can't check the timing this way. I did open it up like the video and everything looked good. But, again, I'm not 100% sure where top dead center is be cause there is no "T"on the flywheel. I'm trying to attach a sketch of the markings...hopefyully this will work. The othe rquestion I have is what markings on the engine? You really can't see much through the hole, can't even see the edge of the flywheel (engine side). I started to take the cover off and removed 4 bolts but thought better of trying to hammer the cover off when it didn't come off easily.
Given that the timing issue was a long shot, any ideas what to try next??? Anybody?? Remember, this was running when I parked it in the fall, even if it was half choked.
I once told some friends that these Chinese ATVs were the way to go, that I could buy 5 of these for the price of one brand name machine. I'm not so sure any more. These are non-stop fixing and parts start to add up even if I can fix it myself.
