Suzuki LT80 chain

Suzuki LT80 chain
We have an LT80 in for a new chain. The chain came today, the boss had gone for genuine Suzuki, and we also got a new front sprocket as the old one was slightly "hooked". Anyway, put it on just before "knocking off time" and the new chain is very slack. All I can think of is the rear sprocket must be non standard. So, what is the number of teeth on a standard sprocket? I believe Suzuki changed the chain pitch during production, not certain how old this one is but think it is fairly late.

Merryman, the 87-88 models had 428 pitch chain with a 12/26 sprocket combo.
The 89 and up models are 520 with 10/22 sprockets.
It will be slack. Uncofortably slack by any mechanics standards.
Suzuki went from the 428 to the 520 because of this.
The 520 is slightly tighter and suprisingly doesn't have much issues.
Prolly should have got the rear sprocket too.

Thanks, I checked it when I got back to work and it is a 520 chain with 10/22 sprockets, so it will have to stay as it is. The new chain is still stiff but I tried the pull a link away from the back sprocket method of checking for wear, and can't see any daylight at the tooth root, so I recon it is OK.
