how to adjust valves on a yamaha moto 4 80
#2
I was hoping someone else would write in as I have only done this on later Yam 80s, and it was a long time ago. However I recon yours will be the same. Remove the screw in caps over the valves. Turn the engine onto top dead centre on the compression stroke, there is a recent posting in the Yam section about doing this on a Warrior. Check the inlet valve clearance, I'm not certain but I think it was 0.003", if it is out, slacken the locknut on this rocker arm, turn the adjuster, (anti-clockwise to increase clearance), tighten the locknut when the clearance is 0.003" and repeat for the exhaust valve. Re-fit the covers.
