Hi I put an aftermarket exhaust in the lt50,and noticed the cylinder head is very hot, I tried to take the spark plug out and couldent touch it.anyone know what could be causing this? I'm still running the oil pump, carbs untouched apart from the first jet away

So you did rejet the carb per the pipe manufacturers recommendation?

 

No as I said the carb is original except the first jet I haven't touched it at all

And it's only a backbox that's been welded on its not a proper lt50 built exhaust

 

Have you looked at the plug? I suspect it to be white (not brown like it should be).
Prolly needs a bigger main jet.
ALTHO, I'm not a fan of gobbledegooked up pipes.
Did the pipe help performance any?

 

Yeah it's actually brown yeah, I'm going to cut off the oil pump and run premix, apart from the hotness it runs ok I'm unsure if it makes a difference to the power but it sounds quite good lol. Ill check what jet I have and get back
