Default Help please - buggy won't roll backwards!

Hey guys

I bought a Baja Sand dog for the kids and have had problems ever since. Biggest current problem is that the wheels seem to be locked and I can't push the buggy backwards.

Even with the engine removed from the frame I can't push it backwards.

What is the problem?

Thanks for your help.

Tim.

Thanks mate.

I suppose I have been lazy - I haven't had a look at anything to see what is "dragging". In fact can't push the buggy forwards or back. That suggests that it is the brakes.

With the kart on it will move forwards and that's probably because the engine overpowers the brakes.

either what jaster mentioned above or maybe a trashed / seized carrier bearing preventing the axle from moving
I was also gonna mention a bound chain- but since you said you removed the engine and it's still stuck- more inclined to think it's the brakes or axle bearings.

Well it ended up being the brakes.

Once I pulled the caliper off it was "pushable".

Going to rebuild the caliper and see how it goes then.

Thanks for the help guys.

beergut, if you notice, i don't venture into the yamaha, honda, polaris forums very often. EVEN though i own those brands, they've made me learn to think simple and then plan for big problems. sometimes, i get lucky! i've owned and "flipped" several chinese quads, so they've taught me a lot. now i'm not scared to work on my grizzly, honda, or my polaris quads. . i just enjoy helping folks AND i like tinkering on my chinese quads that i own. keeps me out of trouble with my wife.
