Sundiro LG-90 Lubrication
Greetings. I have a 2000 model Sundiro LG-90 quad that has not been used on a regular basis. I was working on it this weekend trying to get it going and I have a question about lubrication. Years ago, the oil tank bracket broke and I removed it. I had been running a gas/oil mix instead using a 40:1 mix ratio and have had no problems. I fired it up briefly today and I am getting a small squealing noise from the transmission area. I didn't run it long because of this and I was wondering what type, if any, oil that should be in that part of the drivetrain? There is a plastic fill plug in the top of the case there and I can see the gears inside when it is removed. There is also a small drain-like tube coming out of a fitting on the side of the case close to that "fill" plug. The plug smells like 80/90 gear oil, but I didn't add anything because I need to know what I should add, if needed, and how to tell what appropriate level should be. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

i've never worked on one of this kind/brand before, BUT, is the crankcase a separate compartment from the transmission/gearbox? i would presume so. on your 2 stroke, your crankshaft is lubed from the mix. therefore, the gearbox/tranny should be a separate compartment for the 90wt oil. both are connected by bolts and a belt. automatic tranny based on what i read on the internet for specs so you'd be correct on the 90wt oil.
