Eton Viper 90r tech questions
Great resource you have here! I hope someone can assist me with a few questions about my son's Eton Viper 90r...
First, should engine oil be able to enter the area where the cvt belt is located? My son was riding one day and it seemed to lose forward motion. Reverse would work though. Parked it and later noticed an oil leak which was coming from the crankcase cover. Pulled it off and there was a small amount of engine oil (not gear oil) in the bottom. I tilted the quad about 45deg sideways to get it drip out and more started coming from behind the frontmost belt pulley.
Second, how could this be related to the no forward motion issue mentioned above? I initially thought the belt got oil on it, but if so, it wouldn't go in either direction. If small amounts of oil in there are normal, any ideas as to what this thing's problem is?
Thanks a lot.
