Default 2002 LTA-50, another starting issue

So my kids quad has been running like a top all spring. He runs it out of gas the other day so I fill it up. It starts right up, goes about 100 yards then just dies and I havent been able to start it since. I noticed when I started poking around the carb was VERY loose on the intake manifold where they join. I tried to tighted the clamp bolt but it felt like it was stripped so i put one through with a nut on the other side, better but its still kinda loose. Could this be bleeding vacuum and preventing fuel from being pulled into the cylinder? I have spark, and fuel to the bowl, but the spark plug is dry after 50-60 pulls with the throttle held wide open. Is there supposed to be a gasket or o-ring or something at the joint between the carb and the intake? Thanks -

I don't see any gasket/o-ring in the parts fiche.
Have you cleaned the carb yet? I'm guessing dirt in a jet or ethanol messing with the float needle/seat.

Usually their is a o-ring between the carb and manifold, not sure if anything is between manifold and engine. If you have a vacuum leak their then the engine will not be able to pull the fuel/air through to the engine. One trick i use from back when i used to run nitro rc cars is put a thin bead of RTV silicone on the surfaces before i tighten them back up. Guarantee never to leak.

The parts fiche shows that it slips on a tube type of thing and it has a clamp with a bolt to tighten (what he has stripped out). Didn't show any type of gasket that I could see.

The side your talking about has a plastic/nylon insert that acts as a gasket. The other side has a paper gasket on it.
