#12
Well I got it started and it idles fine but smokes and wen u give it a little throttle it revs up just slightly and then feathers even at full throttle and smokes like a freight train but will go back to idle and then die if unattended but will run on choke and no choke is it the crank seal cuz I have no way to pull the clutch

Still could be a carb problem if you just cleaned the carb and didn't at least install a new needle and seat.Too many times cleaning one doesn't solve all the problems. Yes it could be a crank seal problem also, but eliminate the carb first as one of the problems.Excess smoking could be from exhaust pipe saturated with oily residue or if it's just too rich from fuel. After addressing the carb then if you still have problems, you can get a cheap clutch puller on ebay, etc to get to the crank seal, plus some have made their own pullers from 3/4" by 16 pitch fine thread bolts I believe. Plus needs a good steering wheel puller/ harmonic balancer puller that you can rent at most auto stores to pull the flywheel, then the stator to get to the other crank seal.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Polaris-Scrambler-400-1997-2001-Carb-Carburetor-Kit-/380717280350?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item58a484ac5e&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/POLARIS-TRAIL-BLAZER-PRIMARY-DRIVE-CLUTCH-PULLER-TOOL-repl-Polaris-OEM-2870506-/271577424829?hash=item3f3b46a3bd&vxp=mtr
