Default chain case oil or motor oil

so from what i can see some folks use motor oil in the PVT case and it works fine ive got some quaker state full synthetic 10W30 and i dont want to pay 12 dollars a quart for the pure polaris AGL PLUS gear oil when i have some quaker state synthetic oil in my garage.

Some people have used motor oil and have been doing fine,but imo it's too thick. Plus 75/90 gear oil is too thick. You don't want to have to pay 12 bucks a quart and I understand this,but a quart will fill the tranny and last at least a year depending on how you drive it. The choice is yours. Plus if anything does happen to the transmission such as premature chain stretch, bearing noise,etc it might just make you wonder if it was worth it or not to use motor oil.Again just my OPT
