2011 sportsman 550 EBS noise
I have a 2011 550 in my shop that makes a loud clicking sound when in reverse or when the EBS is engaged. I have the clutch cover off, both clutches are clean and seem to be working properly. The machine is very clean and has barely 700 miles on it. In inspecting the primary clutch I can rotate it over an 1/8 of a turn before it engages to the motor shaft. According to the factory manual, there is a torque compensator in the trans behind the primary clutch on machines manufactured prior to 3/10/2011. The manufactured date on this machine is 3/16/2011...So-
Can this slack be in the trans/engine coupler? Is this slack common to this model? Or does this machine have a torque compensator even though Polaris says they quit using that trans 6 days prior to the tag on this machine? Am I looking in the wrong place for the source of this racket? Also, this machine seems to have an extremely high clutch stall, around 2400 RPM, which combined with the drivetrain slack makes it difficult to get up and down loading ramps, etc. that requires low speed finesse. HELP!
