Could be the problem..Piston to cylinder clearance is TIGHT in these 4 strokes. I'd still check fuel flow,recheck your carb work and if it wont bust off with a shot of ether,you have some other problems..

Found my starting problem, we done a leak down test and found my intake valve was leaking bad, so no wonder it wasn't starting, no compression. Thanks OPT and I'll let you know how the belt tension goes as well.

Could have been worse.. No big deal on the valves. Intake valves always takes the beating as it's weaker than the exhaust valves. If mushroomed from wear or sharp edges,replace it. If it's just carbon build up,just clean em up,lap the valves and hopefully she'll be up and running.
