02 Magnum CV joint
Hey OPT, I was hoping to gain some knowledge from you. I am replacing damaged CV boots on the outside front joints on a 2002 Magnum 500. There is a circlip on the inner splined shaft that pops out of the front differential. My manual indicates there should be one where the spline shaft enters the CV joint. Not only do I not find a circlip there, the shaft does not appear to be machined for one. Does this sound right? Plus, any handy tips you can pass along would be greatly appreciated. I hate learning things the hard way when there is a great resource like you that has seen way more of these machines than I ever will. Thanks!

Circlip on the shaft holding the cv joint. Look at the video at the 3 minute mark.
I just used a brass hammer on the edge of the cv joint to knock it off. Goes back on the same way it came off. Use a dead blow hammer or block of wood on the shaft end after you align the splines of the cv and shaft. Give it a good whack.
