Yes this is a stupid question but i dont care. I Checked voltage all over machine, we're good, no voltage from solenoid to starter when key turned, Is it the solenoid?? it's the new on that arrived today. Does same thing old one did

Small trigger wire from the solenoid goes either to the ignition switch or to the start button on the left control switch start button depending on which model you have. If it it doesn't have power at the solenoid it can't trigger the solenoid to jump voltage to the starter wire. You can check if the starter is ok by jumping the solenoid posts. As far as the wire IF it does have power when the start button is engages, then it could be a faulty solenoid. If it doesn't the sounds lije you need to trace this wire. Could be a faulty ignition switch or the left control switch start button or a short in the wire itself.

Does the solenoid make noise or click when you hit the start button? If so you're getting power to it and since you jumped the posts and the starter works, then time for a new solenoid. "IF" there is no power going to the solenoid small power wire(check with a test light when you hit the start button) Then you either have a short in the wire itself from the ignition switch to the solenoid, the ignition switch itself is bad or the left control switch start button is messed up inside not allowing voltage to the small wire to trigger the solenoid.

You also didn't say what year and model you have. Plus do you have power to the dash, lights, etc. If not this could be a main fuse that many models used that could have shorted out causing the problem. Located up from the battery in a sealed pouch.

Look up at my other post. PLUS again do you have voltage on the small solenoid wire that triggers it?

Before you get to frustrated you can look over this service manual with good electrical troubleshooting checks along with a detailed wiring diagram.2007 Polaris Sportsman X2 800 EFI Service Manual PDF Download OR you can get a cheap solenoid for 8-10 bucks and see what happens.2007 Polaris 800 solenoid | eBay
