Default Trail boss transmission identification/ parts help

Hi All,
My son brought home what he said was a 96 trail boss with a bad transmission. I took a look and determined it was inside. The forward dog gears were rounded.
I started looking for parts and decided let me determine what year it is.
The hood vin is 2505098. With a mfg date of 011194.
The transmission is model 1341151 sn 95-67334.

Can someone please help me this? Looks like a 94 with a 95 transmission?
Forward gears are not available for 94/95, will the 96 parts work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Sounds like you have a mess. Look on the right frame down tube. If it's a 96 it will show "W968527"

Gear cases that can interchange or used the same one are listed here.

Thank you for this information. So the vin 2505098 was so amped into the down tube, similar to my suzukis. I looked again and under the front fender on the frame I found the W958527. 7074897.
Will the 96 forward dog fit this transmission? If I cannot find the parts
Thanks again for the help

Polaris parts list two different set of part for the sn 95-72001 to 73999 and the other is 95-74001 and up.
This transmission is 95-67334.

Would you know what forward dog will work? 3233107 or the newer 3233184?

So close

Thanks

That's a tough one because the shaft itself shows two different part numbers also depending on series.(31,35) They could be the same diameter or one could be larger.I was still able to get the right parts back in 2010,but now a lot of parts are nla for this model.

Well I appreciate your time Old Polaris Tech!. I think based on the lower serial number of my unit vs the two series they offer for the 1995 (that you showed). I think it's safe to say this is a late 1994 production transmission. The 94 forward dog 3233107 is the same as the lower serial number offering for the 1995.
Plus my local,Polaris shop couldn't offer any assistance.

Thanks again

One last comment. The 3233107 (older lower serial number) has 2 engagement tabs. The 3233184 has 3 tabs.
Plus, like old Polaris tech mentioned, the shafts might be different diameter.

Normally that tells you the forward engagement gears that the 2 tab and 3 tab dog gear (engagement gear,3233107/3233184) lock into would be different and they are. Your best bet since a lot of these gears are nla is to try to find a used gear case of your same model and use the best parts on one.
