After 10 minutes pulling my kids around on a sled in our first real snow of the year the throttle starts sticking. I tapped on it a few times in hopes of getting it to release. A couple of times I was sucessful, but then it stuck at a somewhat controllable speed to limp back home. When I got back I had to turn the key off to stop it.....then sled with my kids slammed into the back tires. Luckily they were not hurt!!!

After I unhooked the tow strap I tried tapping it a little harder to get it to free up. No godd !! It just got hung up at a faster speed !!!

So now I start it up and it immediatly WOT !!!

It was a realtreeat to get it back in my garage !!! I finally had to just push it into the garage in the snow for fear of raming into the wall !!

So, I am EXTREAMLY Pissed of right now!!!

10 minutes of snow should be absolutly NOTHING for it!! 10 hours in the snow should have been nothing for it!!

Their freekin' Plant in in Freekin' Minnisota where it SNOWS.......A LOT !!!

I'll follow-up when I get this resolved.

The machine is awesome...BUT, it's when stupid things like this happen that really get me going !!!

 

Wow that sounds bad! Im glad nobody got hurt. Good luck, hopes its an easy fix!

It's in a heated garage right now....I am going to see if it releases on it's own.

 

I have also heard about this same thing happening on some regular rangers

 

hopefully if it doesnt fix itself, maybe they can fix it and come up with a way to keep it from happening again.
You might just put in a visit to the dealership and complain about it that way it will be noted and if anything else happens it could be warrentied.

 

After a night in a heated garage, the cable returned to it's normal position.

Don't worry, I will be shaking the tree all the way to Minnesota.

 

try spraying the inner cable really good with some lube to keep water out ,

 

Well, it appears that my RZR didn't come with a rubber boot on the top of my throttle cable. There was nothing to keep the snow and water out.

It was dry before taking it out.

I have the very first RZR that my Dealer received. No boot.

They called me today and they have me a new cable and boot coming in.

Man !!!!

I love the machine, but had dumped my kids into a ditch or a tree...NOT GOOD!!

The entire time I was riding it in the snow was pulling athe sled, so I wasn't doing a bunch of drift pounding....

I imagine had the boot been there, it all would have been fine.

I had a 225 yamaha three wheeler do the same thing Its not fun!! Glad nobody was hurt. I rode with some rhinos saturday and liked the side by side, Im am looking at the rzr to buy when I get the rzr im going to look at the throttle cable.
