high i just bought a 2006 500 ranger and only ion hig gear it clicks realy bad like it not fully engaged somtimes if you push it real hard it works or sometimes if you balry lock it in it works... but once it locks in it works fine that clicking doesnt sound good ..
its like if you go from low to high gear while still moving thats the noise i meaning
in this case i am not moving... so i thinks its a linkage to adujt so i was asking is there any way to adujt high gear on the 5oo ranger
thanks

Try to adjust cable either at shift lever end or at trans end, some cable stretch can be taken up,but if continues to grind, disconnect at trans, manually try to shift into hi range, if shifts ok,probably new cable needed. If grinding still present, possible internal shift fork and gear damage. Common problem ONLY in hi range, because a lot of people LEAVE in hi under loads. Hard on tranny. Hope adjustment or cable will fix. Good luck

Not the motor ,but the transmission! Get a manual first( through dealer or possibly download one) USUAL damage are shift fork wear, sliding gear dogs and mating gear plus always replace springs inside shift forks. DONT pull front case off where shift lever is, at lot of unnecessary work and have to realign, can bypass that step! Take down from backside, then go step by step from manual. Good luck
