A 1000cc should make almost 144hp without the turbo since the Polaris Weber 750cc twin 4stroke turbo made 135 hp in their Switchback snowmobile since 2006. Even without turbo assist it was rated at 80hp.
You would think the 1000 would atleast 120hp without a complicated turbo.
A turbo in a mud hole and dust just seem like trouble, it's not like a clean frozen over lake or snow trail.

Both the turbocharged and non-turbo version of the engine make its peak power at about 7800 rpm and the rev limit is set at 8000 rpm. The turbo version produces 135 hp while the FS version peaks at 80 hp. Clutch engagement speed is set at a rather modest 3500-4000 rpm.

It was bound to happen. Can-Am trumped the RZR 1000 with the turbo Maverick so this is the countermove by Polaris. It goes to show that the original 107 hp in the RZR 1000 is a whole lot less than what is capable out of this engine. I've seen custom builds that have over 250 hp. Though that would void any warranty for sure. This is a factory turbo so you're covered. A machine that can really rip straight off the showroom floor. I'm guessing it still isn't much faster on top end than a regular 1000, I bet it still hits the rev limiter at around 80 mph. Polaris doesn't want any regular Joe to be able to buy a side by side that can go 100 mph but I could be wrong. But you can guarantee it gets there a lot faster.
