Predator's back and better than ever!!! (presumably)
Hey guys,
Just got my preddy back from the shop last night after a long list of changes. Turns out that my top end failure (see other post) was caused by my piston and my cylinder both being slightly out of round. Thus as the rings wore, they wore wierd/wrong and by the time i took her in she was making 35psi of compression. Well, the service guy also found out that my valve shims were way out of spec, bad enough that it could have caused my intake valves to get sticky as the motor heated up. Anyway, after the entire top end was replaced, i'm now making 138psi (vs. 130psi for predator spec). ALSO, the new components were all checked and are PERFECTLY in spec. so i took her out to break her in and ran around until the fan came on, but i parked it for the day to let it cool down... Anyway, in a couple weeks, hopefully the predator will be running harder than ever before.
Funny story: Service guy made a comment to another employee there, he said "man this thing's my nemisis! if fix one thing, something else COMPLETELY unrelated breaks!" to that end, i've decided that my predator shall be called nemisis. I'm thinking of getting graphics made up...
Do also have one question: it stalled while idling, which i thought was strange, let it idle and got off it for a minute, then after a bit it just stopped dead. It didn't idle down or anything, not like a slowly decending idle, it just went from running great to... OFF. did it twice, probably just because of how tight everything is? anybody have any clue? oh well, i will be continuing to break her in tonight... hopefully doesn't happen again... thanks!

I was thinking to get some custom graphics made for my truck of the 1896 Arnold flick PREDATOR, where its red with white slashes
