Default Trading my 04.5 500HO for an 06 500EFI

I'm the one that the dealer put the wrong front diff fluid in my 2004.5 500HO and fried my hillard. After several attempts at fixing it the dealer agreed to put me in a new 2006 500EFI. He gave my $5500 for my 2004.5 and is discounting the 2006 + winch and 3yr warranty. I looks like my dealer came through. I'm kind of sad for my 2004.5 500HO because I really liked it, and it wasn't the quads fault the dealer put the wrong fluid in it. I hope I like the 2006 500 EFI just as much, if not more. Thanks everyone for your help on the hillard issue...

That is great news to hear. Situations like that are when you really need your dealer to come through. As for you feeling sad about losing your 04.5 500, you will be feeling much better once you open up the 500 EFI. I believe it was Fourlix that got to test all of the 06 polaris lineup. This is his review of the 500 EFI: "The 500 efi totally rips,,,,I couldn't believe the performance difference, along with altitude compensating etc, this makes the always great sportsman 500 into an even better, way better machine." Don't forget to give all of us your opinion on the 500 and good luck on your new ride.

Thanks for the reply, I'm a little nervous about the EFI. I read on another forum that there may be a censor problem indicating it's overheating. At least I'll have a three year warranty. Still nervous.

Do you have the 500EFI? If so, what was the fix? Thanks...

no i dont have the efi but it was flashing HOT HOT on the pod . they took off my front storage box and removed a large box with wires coming out of it and put in a new one they said it was a recall and that
they should not be shipping from the factory with the old boxes but they still got one every once in a while that needed the switch out...

Thanks, I think it's an ECM issue even with the 2006. Thanks for the response...

good luck with your EFI, id love to have one, but so far our 2000 500 H.O. hasnt done us wrong, its a great work quad, gets used oftain in the summer and has always been the favored snow quad, just because of it weighing near 1000 pounds. my dad and i are looking about going in together next fall and getting a 800 EFI again, or maybe the Rumored Sportsman 950 Sport

I traded my 04 700 efi foran 06 500 efi and really like it.. I have 350 miles on it now and it has twice flashed "hot" in the pod but is not really hot. My dealer ordered the fix, a relay I think, but in the mean time I just keep riding. Its a great machine, you will like it.
