HOW MANY MOUNTAINEER RIDERS (WV) ON THE FORUM
I was on a camping trip a few years ago in Bergoo,
Never got to do any riding, but quite a few ppl had ATVs on that trip.
I took my truck up on some old logging roads though,
found a really old school bus, and some other things that looked like old minning equipment.
Nice place I thought.

jtice..That is the Red Oak trail..My father worked in the mine where you saw the machinery..If you follow that trail it circles back into Bergoo...There are a lot of other trails that branch off of it...One goes to the Leatherwood Falls..One goes to The head of Bergoo Creek and ends up over at the Elk River at the Webster _Randolph county line...On that trail there is still an open underground coal mine...One of the loops we ride is about 72 miles..We stop in the town of Pickens at Hull's Store to gas up and fill the coolers...Ride all day and very seldom see another person..On the way back we pass the Big SycamoreTree on the Back Fork of Elk..My friends from out of state (Ga.,Florida,Mich.,Maryland,Kentuckyand Ohio )always tell us that they now know why it is called ALMOST HEAVEN..
