took the Little hawkeye for a ride today and had some fun while riding we ran it out for a top speed run just to see what it would do I ran itwide open for 4 tenths of a mile and it hit 49 Mph this is the most stable atv ive ever owned, my Cousin on her Rancher 350 was behind and I pulled away from her, this considered The hawkeye is by far a Dang good Atv for 299cc , Hum ! I wonder what a good dyno Jet Kit and Free breathing exhaust would net for me Im betting 55 Mph, as it did feel a little flat on top end, I might even get the Urge or courage to Mud bog it.

You must have been going down hill. I had an 07 4x4 limited and top speed was 44mph and it took forever to get there. It's a good little quad and climbs really well, but it is not a fast quad. For a 300 it's probably better than most but don't look to set any speed records. I sold mine and stepped up to a 500cc. It will do mud well, but the belt will start squealing after you get it wet.

My Hawkeye 2x4 will do around 50 mph at 3,000 ft and with 250 lbs. Thats is me and my equipment I carry.
I have met and joined many riders on the trails with much bigger quads 400cc, 500cc, 600cc and keep up with them all. Normally at a rest stop they all come by my little baby and express interest in how many cc's and examine all the great features. Ind. Suspenstion, Engine Braking System, 4 1/2 gal tank, sway bar in the rear, cargo racks and they love the battery mounted in the front compartment.
No it won't do 80 mph and jump hills in a single bound but it meets my needs here in the desert

I get the same thing with looks and curiosity, the wife really likes riding it cause its so simple to ride, the speed of 49 mph was downhill a bit , and coming back up the hill it hit 44 mph so if you get technical about i guess the avreage speed is around 46-47 and thats okay ,, when loaded with baggage and ice chest it does a great jobs also. it does not like to run fast in the sand though, but with the 25 inch tires on it it does okay staying on top of the sand.

I know know why ATV's have winches. No way would I even try and cross some of the rivers.
I also searched the word hawkeye and came up with a few more videos of river and stream crossings.
I also one that the rear sway bar was removed and video of how it performed.
Your videos are great! What is the brand of tires you have on?
When I replace me tires I will check on them.
It looks like you have both front and back the same Dia. and width
We don't have that much water here in AZ only when we have major thunderstorms.
