How did you check for fire (pulling the wire, or pulling the plug)? Having spark at the wire doesn't always mean you're in good shape,,, especially with 2 strokes. My dad has a trailblazer & I've got his old 2 stroke 300. He's rarely even makes it to half throttle and rides at a jogging pace. So, he's always complaining about fouling plugs out. I've had his 300 for 2 years and am still on the same plug,,, but I tend to ride a little faster,,, ha ha ha.
Also, the engine could be flooded because of a stuck float,,, another problem that I have had with mine. I reset the float height and have made it a habit to turn the fuel off when I park it. When I have forgotten in the past,,, all I had to do was turn off the fuel and crank it for a while (in short spurts to avoid overheating the starter) and it would eventually fire. Then smoke like he!! for a minute.
