Im just rolling over 3000miles on my 01 500H.O. and 250hrs. Whats to be expected from these motors, and is there anything i should adjust/replace to keep it going another 3000?
Thanks

I service a 2000 with 1000 hours and 10,000 miles on it , all i've done is set the valves once and change the oil regularly on the motor.

Our 97 SP500 has 7500 miles. Only did oil changes (0w-40) and one starter change, if that counts? I always hear about this cam lobe problem and wonder why it has not shown its ugly head yet.*knock on wood*

I work on a 400 sp "same design as the 500" that has 2260 hours on it. oil changes and a clutch, from letting it sit and idle while in gear. motor sounds like new yet, no indication of piston slap or rod noise.

YOU wont have cam problems if you continue REGULAR maintenance with 0-40 OR PS4 PLUS 2-50
