At what mileage do you do the 1st oil change on a 2008 700 x2 and is there any other checks that need to be done.

I have the same quad exactly - my dealer said change the break-in oil out of it at about 100 miles or 10 hours, and i am just about to take it in for that - as far as I know, that's all they do, unless you are having some problem or other with it.

Yea i would change the oil an filter. Also check the front an rear diff fluid. Just pretty much check everything that you would check if you were servicin your car or truck. Save yourself the money an buy the stuuf yourself an do it,

I am in the same position with a first service. If I take it to the dealer, what do you guys think would be the ball park amount for them to do the service ? If I want to do it myself, any idea where I could get a shop manual for an '07 500 efi ? (My dealer has none in stock)

Only necessary to change first oil and filter at 25 hrs! YOU dont have to change all other fluids! All I do on first service is change oil and filter, clean prefilter and main air filter(replace if absolutely necessary),check over cv boots tires, etc, and reset wrench for 50 hrs for next oil change! $26 plus parts. Any dealer that wants you to change more than that, just means more money in his pocket! We dont operate that way! Good luck

They wanted to charge me a 160 bucks for the first service. When I asked them what exactly they done for that price their answer was"oil change and some other stuff." Some other stuff....WTF?!
You can imagine my response, needless to say I serviced both of my machines myself. It's really pretty straight forward.
OPT I wish all dealerships operated more like yours. They would be a more pleasant place to spend my hard earned money.
