Default 2001 magnum 325 fan cooling runs constantly.

I needed a new battery so I took my battery out so I could get a new one. Before I got the new battery I started the egine with the pull start without the battery installed. the winch solenoid engaged and I had to use the lights. Now that I have installed the new battery my cooling fan now constantly runs. Any ideas what might have caused this?

Disconnect thermister at oil cooler, fan should stop, plug back in if fan runs, replace thermister. NOT good idea to pull start with out battery connected, can cause severe electrical damage. check charging at battery to see if 14 volts above idle,if not reg/rectifier may have fried also. Good luck

Where is the thermister located? My dads polaris 325 magnum has the same problem. Fan is always running. Is the thermister the same thing as a thermostat?

Thermistor sensor is in the oil cooler. There is also a thermistor module located by the cdi and coil that can short out also. Thank you. Is that manual good for the 2000 magnum too?
