Default namura piston bad?

I have a 1999 trailblazer 250 and was recently rebuilding the motor. I put a namura piston in it and as i went to look in the intake port after finishing the motor i noticed where the bottom ring ended the small pin in the piston it was in the middle of the intake port and is slightingly catching the port. This is a brand new piston and i was just wondering if anyone alse has had this trouble with a namura piston. I have called them and they said it would be fine to run.

Well my thought is the oem piston must have done this too. As strange as that would be. Did they say it would be fine to run, or did they say it was designed that way. Two totally different scenarios.

Not sure of exact measurement but there should not be very much, better have rod bearing thouroughly checked, sounds like it may have problems.
