2005 polaris 700 EFI fuel problems?
#11
Yes it has fresh gas and the tank had been drained whenever it was sitting, I had the old battery on a charger all night but still had to boost it with my truck. Never heard the pump kick on. Even took the fuel line off the pump and no gas came out, finally took the pump out of the tank to look to see maybe if it stopped up but everthing looked clean and all the wires looked good. Going to install a new battery today, Do you have any ideas how many Amps the battery needs. I have one that is 12 volt 35 amps just wondering if it will work if it will it will save me some money.

Be careful jumping off with a truck or car battery, can fry electronics!! OEM Polaris is # 4011224 30 amp maintenance free battery $92 at Cycle Parts Warehouse,BUT people have installed AGM batteries, etc if you have the bucks. Best to stay with the 30 amp battery rating, buy a replacement equivalent to the OEM. Pumps DO go out on these and replacements from Napa, etc are available. I worked at a shop so didn't ever really check into this before I retired as others have done! Found an Air Tex # E8198 pump from previous posts others had used from Napa and Auto Zone. OPT
