The locking mechanism for the HD2500, just spins. I would love to order the gears, but how do you get the plastic end cap of to expose the gears? or even how that piece disassembles?

Does anybody have the blow up of the parts list?

Thanks

Tom

Several online sites that have detailed tear down instructions on Warn winches like this one. Warn 2.5ci ATV Winch Breakdown
Plus several videos on you tube.

Thanks so much for the info, I was able to dismantle the assembly and found the handle you turn to enable or disable the clutch is broke.

The winch I have is made by Polaris, I am not sure it's exactly the same, and they don't break down the parts to see the **** you spin to disengage the assembly.

Any ideas?

Great thread, thanks.
I currently have my winch apart, its a polaris branded winch off my 06 800. I think i may just replace the parts anyway based on the cost and i was having trouble putting it into free spool although never had a problem with the unit other than old cable kept getting shorter. Just ordered a new 50' blue rope today.

Thanks again for all the great info.
