Thanks so much for the info, I was able to dismantle the assembly and found the handle you turn to enable or disable the clutch is broke.
The winch I have is made by Polaris, I am not sure it's exactly the same, and they don't break down the parts to see the **** you spin to disengage the assembly.
Any ideas?

Engagement/free wheel **** comes with the end housing assembly. I currently have my winch apart, its a polaris branded winch off my 06 800. I think i may just replace the parts anyway based on the cost and i was having trouble putting it into free spool although never had a problem with the unit other than old cable kept getting shorter. Just ordered a new 50' blue rope today.
