Default Polaris Military Sportsman and RZR....pics!

I went the Datsun show to ogle some trucks last Sunday in San Jose, and saw
this big flatbed parked outside the show grounds. It had nothing to do with the
show....it was prob just there so the driver could park overnight.

Anyway, I immediately recognized the newest military offroad vehicles from
Polaris, the Sportsman MV850 ATV, and the M RZR 4 UTV.

If I can make out the print on the ATV, they seem to be bound for the 2nd
Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment (Ft. Benning, GA). Then maybe Iraq, if
Obama gets his way.....

Beyond the oogly paint job, I suppose they have a few more tie-downs
and a much higher price tag, vs. civilian equivalents.

I think it would be cool if you could get a regular sportsman or ranger at least with that paint scheme. People buy tons of regular camo colored machines. I think a military camo paint scheme would be a great seller.

Sometimes I think I need a roll bar on my ATV.

After seeing an Ace, I would not have an issue having a rollbsr on an atv.

After watching this video a roll bar might be a viable addition. Wouldn't surprise me in the future that they'd be a requirement from manufacturers to help reduce injuries.

There have been a few times I had to duck under trees where that quad bar wouldn't fit but it would be very useful on open terrain like a farm. I almost rolled over the last time I rode because I took a curve too fast. It felt like I went up on two wheels and scared the crap out of me.

Did enjoy the video on old "Sledge-O-Matic" Gallager and his contraption. But even he almost got hurt at the end of the video acting stupid..as he usual did.
