Yes I am pushing the button, the screen flashes "SLOW". I have the switch in AWD, but the light is not coming on.

might be the transmssion switch which tells the bike what gear it's in is malfunctioning? maybe check connections to make sure it is not corroded just to rule it out?

Hard a similar problem with my '01 Sportsman. Found out this happened when the battery votage was too low. Got a new battery & the problem was fixed. Check your battery & make sure the battery is getting votage to charge it.

It is a brand new battery and regulator, although the last time I rode it. The battery was flashing on the pod.

You can have a brand new battery straight out of the box that can be bad! We replaced a bunch of Yuasa, Bike Master, and even had a lot of "maintenance free" Polaris batteries(made by Yuasa) bad straight out of the crate when we set the atvs up! Even after charging them per set up instructions! Have the battery load tested to rule out this as the problem. The battery indicator is flashing for a reason! You are using the 30 amp battery and haven't placed a smaller battery in it?? Have have some guys do this. Plus one other thing about the 2002 700's was the Ducati electrical system(this system changes to a complete new system (Kokusan) stator, flywheel, coil, cdi and regulator rectifier when it fails! And they almost all will! Most of the time they just wouldn't have spark, but could be another reason(not charging??) even with a new regulator rectifier. OPT

Is battery symbol still flashing on pod??? If so, then check with a voltmeter that battery is getting around 14 volts while running. OPT
