Default Got my new Lock & Ride rear seat

I ordered a new rear seat and foot pegs from the atv superstore and got it installed last night.

Thor is a great guy to deal with, turn around time was very good and he was helpful with the install over the phone, not bad just had to take the rear rack off and use it to drill the holes in the box for the lock & ride mounts, it's gonna be great for hauling the kids around, they are small enough now at 3 and 5 that they fit side by side in it and just push their legs against my back, I can feel them there and know the are secure, for the wife or someone else the foot pegs should be a great add on as well, just sitting on it in the garage if feels a lot better than trying to reach the foot boards.

its a great seat, I've had mine for a while now and will tell you that there is one thing you might want to improve on it. I went to lowes and picked up some welding steel and made some internal braces. the seat had some flex and would rock in place before, now....i think i could drive over a mine and keep the seat attached. For those who want to know, i wrapped the edge in 1/4" vacuum hose and painted it with rusto durable paint.

Here's some pics of the supports I made:

Do you find that the passenger seat intrudes into your seating area? I have a similar seat that I am debating returning because it pushes me forward a bit more than I like. I can remove the seat pad most of the time though. I have also considered removing 2 inches of pad from the rear of the seat to move it back some. I also have a soft sided seat that fits better but doesn't hold the passenger as securely.

Thanks for the pics of the supports cyber, I'll keep that in mind if it's an issue, so far I didn't notice anything wrong with the way it is, but my kids are light, 75 lbs together.

keithert, I don't find it intrusive, cant even tell its there.

kids should be fine, i weigh 180 wife is a little smaller, so the bottom would flex a little during heavy trail riding when 2-up, again, not sure if that's what you're planning, but glad to help ;P
