2001 polaris trailblazer 250 reverse problem
I am going to look at a 2001 polaris trailblazer 250 and the reverse does not work. I was hoping somebody could give me some insight on what the problem could be. It runs fine going forward . I don't care if the reverse does not work I just want to know if its a total transmission problem and I could damage it . Thanks alot

Wont go into reverse or just doesn't have power in reverse?? If the linkage is ok,but wont go into reverse it could be the reverse gear or slider gear problem, shift fork?? No one can say if it will be okay this way. If work is needed,it's a fairly simple gear case. The hardest part is getting it out of the frame.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse

It's a 2001 in really nice shape other then that issue, they guy wants a 1000 for it , you think it's worth a shot or would you recommend to stay away from it. I am looks for a small 2x4 auto for my girlfriend like a trailblazer or trail boss 250 . Would you have any other recommendations , looking to spend about a 1000, thank you for your time I really appreciate it

i'd buy it. i wouldn't be afraid of it. like OPT said, that's an easy fix. either by the linkage/shifter being out of adjustment or popping open the gearbox. you can't go wrong buying it and fixing it. it's a good deal. even better if it was cheaper than a grand! where's the quad located? i'm interested if close enough to me!
