Even if they do address the melting seat and plastics with quick fixes, that still is avoiding the real issue which is a bike that gets extremely hot. Maybe the cooling system isn't efficient enough but something is up and a hotter engine wears parts out faster. Not really a suprise though. When polaris releases a machine that is 1500 dollars cheaper than it's less powerful competition, do people think it's out of the goodness of polaris' heart to make a affordable machine? Obviously not, It's because it costs that much less to make.

People are making a big deal on the seats melting. Some have, some haven't from what I've heard at the shop. Just like the kits that nobody knows about on the 2007 Sportsman 500 efi models that I had to install on a few machines that basically did the same thing! Kits were comprised of an extra shielding metal kit over the exhaust along with added insulation over the side panels and under the right rear cab area. Some machines had the locking tabs on the side panels get hot and melt along with edges of seats also like the 570. Again some did, some didn't,but if anyone complained, they got the kit. Don't know if Polaris is going to have this as a tech bulletin for all the 570s or just treat it on a case by case basis like they did on the 2007 Sportsman. My two cents on the 2007 model was that they were programmed too lean causing some to have this problem. As far as blowing head gaskets, the guys haven't had one come in for that, but anythings possible. Best way to find out a lot on anything is to talk to a good tech from a large volume dealer ship that can tell you like it is.

New for 2014. Seems like on every new model there's always bugs that they fail to catch. Not just Polaris, but all brands as they hurry to get them into production without a good lengthy testing.Just like Obamacare."Go ahead and pass it then we'll find out what's in it!" First couple years on the Sportsman 500s(96-97) had severe rear transmission mounted brake rotor issues as they got hot. Finally had a floating rotor/hub kit that solved this problem, then they decided to mount the brake on the rear later on. For years the 500 didn't have any major problems as they kept the same body style, tweaked small things here and there and had "bold new graphics" every year.. Even mighty Honda, known for their reliability, waited years after everyone else had water craft to jump in with their Aqua Trax in 2002 I believe. Even they had fuel tank and engine problems.Ask any Honda tech that had to pull the engines what he thought about their first year model pwc. I got an ear full from a couple of Honda techs !! If all manufacturers did like the Volkswagen beetle and kept the same body style (1938-2003) and just tweaked things a bit on every year model, then every one would be happy,no problems, but would have the same looking car. I bought a new 71 Super Beetle and loved it anyway!
