Default voltage regulator question

yes hello i have a question regarding voltage regulator. can i simply take it off and will my machine still run. i ask this question because it turns out the replacement that i bought is bad . and they want me to return it.

Yes you can remove the regulator as long as you don't mind pull starting it only,doing away with the lights,as they will blow anyway,plus don't mind not having awd,plus you might as well chunk the battery. The lights,starter have to have the battery as well as constant voltage for the awd and what keeps the battery up is the regulator..Plus you may need the fan to keep the engine cool as it will get hot..Kinda of a Catch 22 on this one,gotta have one. Think I'd return it as most places won't take electrical parts back.Think I'd jump at this to be able to get a good one.

you should not run it w/ out the reg. as for reasons stated above
