my local powersport shop just closed down, the guy just didnt care anymore.. I tried to get a pep **** seal and all he said was dont have it, because it was for polaris, not yamaha. After about 20 min of trying to get him to just look, he did and found 1, but said not doing it anymore. if ya dont ask for yamaha he dont have it. period.. package even said polaris..

Make sure there is no up and down play on the rod. If there is play no sense in just doing a top end. Hopefully the po did have a new rod kit installed and then gave up?

Doesn't sound like a very good businessman. If you carry parts for all makes, don't you think you'd make more money if you actually try to sell those parts? I've never encountered anyone like that in buying parts anywhere. Now certain shops only work on certain makes, that I have had the misfortune of dealing with. Actually it was a mower dealer and they only work on the machines they sell, wouldn't touch my old Snapper because "we don't work on those" or something like that. I would drive out of my way to not buy anything from that place, their holier than thou attitude has lost my business forever. I wouldn't buy their overpriced crap if they were the only dealer for 100 miles. Sad part is, its only like 2 blocks from my home(and its a small town) and I've never been back and never will. Every other dealer I've ever been to will work on anything because they hope you eventually will buy a new unit from them. There's another shop in town I go to if I need something worked on so no big loss anyway and they are happy to have my business.

Saw a lot of people like this including me at the end of almost 23 years of wrenching. Making a vocation out of an avocation can sometimes destroy the love for it.At one time I had 7 motorcycles in my garage, was always working on something or another. Now I have none..
