I think the Sportsman 850 towing capacity is actually 1500 pounds but I can't check it as I'm having browser problems. I have no idea what the others can tow.

That's why the mid bore and Big Bores have the same tow capacities of 1200lbs. They rate tow capacity while the ATV is in low range.
A 400 in low will out pull a 800 in high range, since any CVT ATV can smoke a belt in High range but its next to impossible while in low.
I would hope a guy trailering a load railway ties up a incline would be in low range.

Whether the other ATV lost power or traction really wasn't the point. The point was that the 850 is a very powerful machine. It took it's own weight, a loaded trailer, and pushed another ATV up a hill. I'm sure you could contact Doug over at ATVTV.com and get all the facts.

You do know a 56hp tractor can out pull a 300hp 4x4 pick up truck due to gearing and weight?

I guess to sum it all up, any of these machines would be a good choice. Test ride them all and decide which one you like the best. Specs and reviews are nice to read but its the test ride that confirms them.

Thanks for all the help guys! I ended up choosing the King Quad! I would have loved to have one of each lol, but I had to make a decision.

I tie to a SP800 with my SP500 in a tug of war. Result was both just dug and sank in their own tire ruts without gaining a inch. They both do not run out of wheel power and both have equal ground contact.
Same result when I tried it with a Honda 350 Rancher.

Give it a try one day. Nuff said.
