Default motor swap new newer machine

1987 trail boss 250 wore out but runs good, plastic bad shape ect but is complete

Picked up a 97+- explorer rolling chasis no motor nothing just axles and transmission engine is NOT avaible

Will the 250 motor fit and will I be able to get the electrical Connected with out MAJOR rrewiring

Probably have to use your rear and front motor mount brackets.Clutches on either one will work. Top engine bracket should be able to stay on the 400. You'll need the complete electronics,harness,cdi,regulator,etc from the 250. Controls(throttle assy,left control switch) will have to be swapped also among other things. You can chunk the radiator and keep the fan on a toggle if you wish. Experiencing Deja Vu as it seems like I had the same question a couple days ago.. Always expect to do some sort of fabrication if you do this.

Okay kinda what I figured with the wiring and so forth.... I guess I have to wait till I pick it up from the auction company and see if there is more things than in the picture......I wish they had w/e was left of the motor, but I may also just keep it and try to find an engine
