spark plug wire

I never changed a spark plug wire on my ATVs but have on my sleds and all you do is shove the wire back into coil by sliding the boot up the wire then shove the wire into the coil's wire hole.
Even when you buy a new coil some make you install the wire yourself. Pulling the wire out of the coil or spark plug cap can't hurt anything.

Just get a length of 7mm coil wire and silicone the wire and boot and twist it back into the coil. Had a recall on 2007 model Sportsman 500s that wires could pinch between the tank and frame from an assembly error and many did and would die in their tracks. Polaris just said replace the coil assy. I just pulled out the bad wires replaced them and rerouted them. They even make coil wire splice kits for sealed coil wires that had bad spots in them so you could save the coil.http://www.ebay.com/itm/NGK-SPARK-PLUG-Wire-Cable-Splice-Connectors-7mm-Wire-/311196846125?hash=item4874c7082d&vxp=mtr

Just screws in if that was all it was. Use a little electrical grease and screw the plug cap on tight to the wire. Plug cap has an inner barb that screws into the wire. Item#2.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Polaris, Suzuki & Kawasaki OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse
