First off pop the front panel off and see if any wires have pulled loose from the regulator. Common thing on many Sportsmans. If all are hooked up check what the voltage is at the battery slightly above an idle. If it just shows battery voltage or less usually the regulator is faulty.Plus it's been updated which usually means something. Item #35 on the parts break down. Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Polaris, Suzuki & Kawasaki OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse Supposedly this one will work if you need one.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rectifier-Regulator-FITS-POLARIS-ATV-4060173-2203636-NEW-/270668566659?hash=item3f051a9083&vxp=mtr
