Hi, I've been searching eBay for front racks and have found them to be, very specific about what fits. And of course, they are the most expensive

Any thoughts on which racks are interchangeable?

 

So many changes from year to year,but you can at least use the Polaris Parts Catalog to help show which models that use the same parts.Granted it doesn't show the entire lists on a lot of parts,but can help narrow down searches.Browse Just find the part,scan over to "usage" and click on it. Will show some if not all machines that uses the same part.Like this front rack from a 2000 Sportsman 500.

Is that for a Trail Boss? Going by your avatar picture.

 

Ok, just saw you introduction thread. OPT can probably verify this, but I think the Magnum is as close as you'll get to a rack fitting the frame.

Trying to remember if there were holes in the fender of the Trail Boss to put part of the rack through to attach to the framework.

Seems I remember seeing a few with a rack on the front, but it wasn't a standard part.

 

Racks for these were add on items. Can't remember either,but some year models did come with rubber plugs for adding racks.

Just search up these two numbers to give you more examples on ebay.

 

Just going by the shape and way it's mounted, this looks like it may have come off the 2 stroke trail boss.

Plus it jogged my memory that it also fit the 2000 Explorer 250 (good machine that was only made a couple years) that had the same body style as the Trail Boss. Shaft drive in the front,chain in the rear. We sold every one of these that we could get our hands on and farmers and ranchers loved em.

 

I do remember having the plastic plugs in the fender now. Lost one of them somewhere on the trails.

With the right sized hammer, looks like a few would fit.
