Slip on muffler without tuner
My sportsman xp 1000 muffler glows orange after its gets warmed up and I run it a few miles and the plastics get got with no melting and it seems to be a problem on alot of these atvs and I see guys fixing the problem with slip on mufflers without using tuners is this safe for the engine I'm thinking about going that route

Most of the guys that has had this problem says polaris says it's normal or they change the whole exhaust and the problem still exists after it leaves the dealer and there is a poll on another polaris forum and over half have this same issue and they say the only cure is a gse slip on and most aren't running tuners

Common issue on the 1000's. Reflash might help a bit but the stock mufflers are way too restrictive. I went with a GSE muffler and air filter on my Highlifter 1000 and made a huge difference. No need for a tuner. I've piped every Polaris I've owned (10 so far), never used a tuner, and never had any reliability issues.
