So I bought just the replacement fan motor, but it don't fit in the mounting bracket, ever run into this? Worth the time trying to make it work?

 

Then I'd call em and send it back if you have to. Especially since the description showed it replaced the oem part number.. You can try another after market one or stay with the oem style fan motor that should work and reuse your metal blade.
