I went and bought a brand new battery and its still doing the same thing I did buy a new stator and I did buy a voltage regulator could the voltage regulator be the problem? Should I put my old on back on?

Check resistance on both stators.Black/Red to green. 446 ohms,black/red to red 450 ohms,Red to Green 3.2 ohms,Pick up coil White to White/Red 97 ohms. Readings allow +/- 10-15%. Charge coil ( wires leading to regulator) Yellow to Yellow/Brown 0.17 ohms,Yellow/Red to Red 0.17 ohms.

The stator is brand new and I don't know how to use a multimeter and I don't have one.

Now's the best time to learn how. You can down load the manual I posted a link to earlier,get a multi meter and read the instructions on how to use one. It's not that hard.Either that or have someone else that knows how to check things out. Plenty of videos on you tube also that can help you out on understanding how to use a multi meter. Here's just one.
