Converting thumb throttle?!

I have heard that a twist throttle could be dangerous.In the event of a roll over the throttle could be pinned wide open unlike a bike the tires would still be touching the ground.you could get a teather kill switch jest in case.

No one makes them for the '99 models, yet, but I have been looking into getting one. I just hate when I am riding rocks with a twist throttle and when I lean back, the throttle comes too. Just takes getting used to I guess, all the moto guys have been running them since the begining.

When I ride manual clutch-atv's it just feels weird with a thumb throttle. The other day I hopped on a friends Banshee and when I kicked it, I started to twist my hand a few times to rev it a little after it starts. I finaly noticed, the throttle wasn't froze in place, it's a thumb. Doh!

You can install a twist grip from a 97 or 98 but you have to buy the 4WD button also. You can use any kind of toggle switch if you don't want to spent the extra money on the switch.
